PsychoCon XIV - From a Non Gamer's Viewpoint

Day 1 (June 27, 2003)

Day 2 (June 28, 2003)

Day 3 (June 29, 2003)

Jeff Donald is once again hosting this very long, threeeee dayyyyy weekend loooonnnng gaming event, and people (men) are actually showing up in droves to play board games continually throughout the day and night, over and over, each day the same except maybe with a new game...or the same game but with different mixtures of people at the table...or the game is moved to another table with the same people.  It is absolutely fascinating to watch (for about 2 seconds) grown men (at least physically) moving pieces around on a board and picking up cards every once in a while, and most importantly, eating and drinking mass quantities of every junk food known to man.

Here is a clip of a group of these weekend warriors clustered around one of these games (I think this one is Settlers of the Stone Age or some such nonsense).

What seems like hours later, another game started up in the dining room (or PsychoCon gaming table 2).  I captured some tense moments among the players (I really have no idea if there were tense moments or not, but it sounds exciting, doesn't it?).  This is on the edge of your seat entertainment.  If you look closely, you will notice that this game is being played on a special plastic sheet that was brought to the Con for better gaming performance...I guess.
